SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.
It is not a full control system, but it focuses on the supervisory level. SCADA is a purely software package which positioned
on the top of hardware to which it is interfaced, in general through Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs) or any other hardware modules.
SCADA can be used for Monitoring and Controlling the Plant or Equipment’s .The control may be automatic and sometimes initiated by operator commands.
The primary interface for an operator is a dynamic graphical display of plant or equipment usually through computer screen.
The updating in Parameters in the field will be reflected or updated in computer screen. For Monitoring and controlling the
different process variable in Plants, the Operators or Engineers must have knowledge about SCADA software and its controls.
